Offerings

I aspire to create coaching experiences that are self-determined, accessible and empowering.

In these offerings I draw on the experience of many years running social-justice embodiment programs in social circus, and working as a Creative Art Therapist with issues of trauma, stigma and discrimination.

My work is deeply informed by my own lived experience: of being 'treated' as an adolescent within the mental health industrial complex, and being a part of the LGBTQIA+ family.

Life Coaching

Per hour - Sliding Scale $90-$150 NZ

"We are all born naked, and the rest is drag"

― Ru Paul

Life Coaching is a non-clinical well-being pathway that supports greater fulfilment. The process of our natural becoming gets confused and obscured by the social conditioning of our personal and neo-colonial contexts. In sessions with me we can draw on a diverse range of modalities from creative arts, embodiment practices, as well as psychological and spiritual traditions, to explore your challenges and potentials for a meaningful life. Whilst I use my training and experience as a therapist to take a trauma-informed approach, this is not therapy, and is therefore best undertaken when you feel able to navigate life's ups and downs without deep despair. Of course, life can be unexpected sometimes, so if you encounter the need for more robust support during our journey together, I will also use my experience with mental health services to encourage your access to them in a just and empowering way.

Relationship Coaching

Per hour - Sliding Scale $140-$200 NZ

"A relationship where you can be weird together is your best choice."

― Paolo Coelho

Intimacy and Relationships has become a special interest for me and I have developed a significant awareness of diversity in relationships over the past two decades. I am knowledgable of LGBTQIA+, ethical non-monogamy, platonic-partners, relationship anarchy, kink / BDSM, and sex-workers - as well as monogamous and heterosexual dyads. I am guided by the principles put forward by Andie Nordgren in "The short instructional manifesto for relationship anarchy" (https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/andie-nordgren-the-short-instructional-manifesto-for-relationship-anarchy) to help people navigate challenges and change in their partnerships, romantic or otherwise, and to honour each others agency with openhearted compassion.

Yoga, Embodiment & 1:1 Coaching

Per hour - Sliding Scale $60-$120 NZ

“Those who do not move, do not notice their chains.”
― Rosa Luxemburg

Yoga studios and large group classes can be intimidating situations for some people. 1:1 Coaching can be an accessible alternative if you have diversity experiences which are not supported by mainstream embodiment formats. As well as being qualified as a Creative Art Therapist using dance / movement modalities, and a yoga teacher with Foundational Training in trauma sensitive yoga, I also worked as a social circus teacher with differently-abled, neuro-diverse, youth, elder, and trauma-experienced populations over the course of 10 years. My embodiment approach is inspired by all these modalities to tailor your experience in the most self-determined and empowering way. My 5 years experience as a Bachelors level Circus / Dance instructor means that I also have the ability to help you achieve your most refined and athletic fitness aspirations within the context of a mindful and compassionate practice.

Yoga Nidra & Sound Healing

Per hour - Sliding Scale $60-$120 NZ

"One reason why sound heals on a physical level is because it so deeply touches and transforms us on the emotional and spiritual planes."

― Mitchell Gaynor MD

Yoga Nidra and Sound Healing both work to invite our being into deep Alpha and Theta brain wave states. These are the waves associated with meditation and dreaming - delivered in a form which might be more accessible for folks who find traditional seated meditation more difficult. Combined, Nidra and Sound Healing are a profoundly relaxing experience - engaging the parasympathetic nervous system, where stress and past trauma can be released and mind-body healing can occur. In a personal session of Nidra and Sound Healing I intersperse gentle guided meditation with the use of crystal singing bowls, chimes, shakers, chanting, toning and other instruments to create a session of deep relaxation and brainwave entrainment which is suitable to your goals and experience. I take a trauma-aware approach to these practices, adjusting the language of traditional Tantric yoga nidra to be accessible and invitational and using sound in a format that will be co-designed by you at the start of each session.

Theraputic Massage

Per hour - Sliding Scale $90-$150 NZ

“Where the spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art.”
― Leonardo da Vinci

Human touch can be deeply healing, yet so often our experience with professional touch has been impersonal and uninformed. I seek to provide a gentle space for people to reconnect with their bodies with an emphasis on comfort and relaxation, including throughout any treatment based work like deep tissue. My style of bodywork is centered around traditional Swedish therapeutic techniques, as well as body-integrative strokes inspired by Ayurvedic and Pasific approaches to oil massage - which I have learned through adjunct courses to the Certificate of Therapeutic Massage. I work with a range of clothing and draping requirements to accommodate individual needs for trauma aware touch, as well as adjusting my focus and style of delivery for people's physical and psychological needs.

Group-work

Prices Negotiated in $NZ

"Everything that irritates us about others can lead to an understanding of ourselves."

― Carl Jung

Whether yoga and embodiment, processing circles, workplace mindfulness and well-being, ecstatic dance, or community creative arts - group-work has a special kind of alchemy that both challenges and expands its participants. I approach group facilitation with a circular-leadership philosophy, viewing everyone in the room as conduits for Ako (the Māori term which could approximate as 'reciprocal learning'). In designing circles, classes and workshops, I endevour to create an environment in which the group can embark on the co-creation of new understandings and new ways of being in the world. Throughout the course of our time together participants are invited to show up as their authentic selves, within a container of compassionate acceptance and open curiosity. Groups become a source of rich inter-subjective awareness.

PRICING AND ACCESSABILITY

How payment works
I offer all my services on sliding scale, so that you can choose what is within your financial capacity within a reasonable bracket that supports my own well-being and work/life balance. I trust you to discern the scale for yourself, but if a bit of guidance is preferred here are some ideas:

  • Lower tier payments: low income earners or beneficiaries / people with, or who need to support others with, special needs (including mental health, neurodiversity and different ability) / single sole-caregiver's of children / BIPOC folks and others who experience ongoing systemic oppression. Adjust within the payment range to reflect your economic capacity.

  • Highest tier payments: Full wage-earners / people with significant shared-household or inter-generational wealth.

  • Free to access sessions for workshops: If you are someone who experiences significant socioeconomic marginalization (including an intersection of the challenges listed in the "Lower tier payments" section) you can choose to be put on a waiting list for free to access session for upcoming workshops. Please only use this option if you really need it as adding to the waiting list unnecessarily will reduce social justice session availability for those that do.
